Question: Help needed in the field of science?

this is my science project: can air pressure alone force an egg to be pushed inside a bottle? here is where my problem is- it needs to be a controlled experiment! any ideas? (and it has to be at an eighth grade level, not too hard but not too easy as in I didn’t try).. if i can’t make this a controlled experiment, are there any other experiments I can do? Please answer ASAP! Greatly appreciated!
i know how to do the project and all, I just need to compare it with something–> it needs to be a controlled experiment and not just a demonstration

Answer: yes this can be done you need a glass milk bottle one candle and a boiled egg.1 boil egg let it cool then peel egg 2.place candle in bottle using blue tac.3.once you get the candle in the bottle light candle place peeled egg on top when the the flame of the candle burns up all the oxygen in the bottle.it then will create a vacuum pulling the egg into the bottle.

What is pressure? The definition of Pressure

In a fluid system, pressure means the force acting upon and normal to unit area of the system.

What is the definition of Absolute Pressure?

An absolute pressure refers to the absolute force acting normally on unit area of the fluid system. It is of interest to note that whilst absolute pressure is always positive for a gas, some rare cases of negative absolute pressure have been found for some liquids.

What is Gauge pressure?

Gauge pressure represents the difference between the absolute pressure and the local barometric pressure. Very often, in practice, the readings obtained from pressure gauges are relative to the barometric pressure. It is important that the distinction is clearly understood as serious errors in results can sometimes be traced to this point.

What is Vacuum?

Vacuum is the amount by which the barometric pressure exceeds the absolute pressure (Le. it is then a negative gauge pressure).

The liquid filled Manometer is a popular instrument for pressure measurement of steady fluid pressures because of its extreme simplicity and reliability. Many versions of the Manometer principle are in use.
