Science Experiments Year 10

Question: Science Experiments for 10 years old ?
The science fair is coming next thursday and i need your help cause my sister wants to do an experiment please help me !!
Answer: Do paper chromatography. It is easy, dramatic, and you can complete a project in a few days.
All you do is get some ink pens, paint pens, etc. and put a spot of ink on a strip of paper. Put the paper in water, and let the ink separate as the water climbs up the paper.
Title the project “Comparison of Ink Pens by Paper Chromatography” and give a simple explanation. Something like: ink dissolves in water, the water and ink together moves up the paper, and the paper slows down the different colors by different amounts. Practice the explanation verbally, and make sure she understands it in her own words.
Your sister is 10, so anything more complex with an elaborate solution, would not be credible — obviously someone else must have helped quite a bit.
Chromatography is incredibly important in modern science, so she will also be learning something useful.

Just a simple experiment, one that your sister got excited about and understands, would impress any scientist on the judging panel (if there is one).
You can help with the presentation, but a lot of times science fairs end up being competition for the parents, not the kids.

Science Experiments With Plants

Question: What are some plants with short life cycles?
I am doing an experiment for science fair and need a plant that can completely grow from seed form in less than 5 or 6 weeks. It can be a flowering plant, shrub, or preferably, a crop. Thanks : )
Answer: The plant we always used in botany was the pea plant – it grows fast, doesn’t need a lot of care, and all the plants were relatively uniform (similar to each other).

Science Experiments Matter

Question: Are their some scientist warning us regarding the CERN anti matter experiment?
The experiment will be turned on Wednesday , but the collision won`t be done until October. What I have been reading is that this could change our knowledge about science or it could destroy our planet. Everyone should really follow this story.
Answer: “it could destroy our planet”
Anyone who is saying that is not a scientist and does not know what they are talking about.
There are particles more energetic than will be created in the LHC striking the upper atmosphere all the time.
The advantage of conducting this experiment is that it will be under controlled conditions where the results can be measured. We will learn new things about matter and the universe by doing this.
What is the point?
Think about this.
If the dinosaurs had a nuclear physics research program, they would still be here.
