Cracked Egg Experiment
Below is a fun egg science experiment called the cracked Egg Experiment. The Cracked Egg Science experiment is particularly useful in helping students understand the concept of plate tectonics.
What do I need for the cracked Egg Experiment? All you need to do the cracked egg science experiment is a medium cooked boiled egg. Below is an instruction to boil an egg to the right consistency. You don’t want an overcooked egg for this cracked egg science experiment. |

How to boil an egg for this egg science experiment
-
Put water in a pot enough to cover an egg.
-
Bring the water to boil.
-
Lower an egg into the boiling water with a href=”http://www.science-experiments.info/Cracked-Egg-Experiment.html#”spoon.
-
Turn the heat down to low.
-
Boil the egg for about 7-9 minutes.
-
Take the egg out of the water to cool in under running water.
When you have a medium cooked egg, strike the boiled egg gently against a hard surface such as the kitchen countertop or a table. Break the eggshell into a number of pieces. Don’t worry about the size of the broken egg shell pieces. These shell pieces will be the tectonic plates of the earth, the boiled egg.
Now squeeze the boiled egg gently between two fingers. The plates will move and some will bimp against other plates. Other plates will slide or move away from each other.

The pieces of eggshell slide just like tectonic plates would. Some tectonic plates move towards each other, some move away, and so on. You can read more about plate tectonics here.
Egg Experiment
An egg experiment is a very popular and Fun Kid Experiment. An leading egg experiment is the Egg Drop Experiment. The Egg Drop Experiment illustrates how air Pressure causes the egg to drop into a jar. The Egg Drop Experiment is a Fun Kid Experiment for children of any age.

Another egg experiement is the floating egg experiment. With the floating egg experiment, children learn the differences between the density of salt water and fresh water. The floating egg experiment is also a fun egg experiment for children of any age.

Floating Egg Experiment
The third egg href=”http://www.science-experiments.info/Egg_Experiment.html#”experiment featured here is the cooked eggs vs. raw eggs science experiment which determines the characteristic differences of cooked eggs Vs. raw eggs.
There are other egg experiments you can do at home. Science Experiment website is continually updated to bring you more Science Experiments such as the fascinating egg experiments. For more fun kid experiments and Cool Science Experiments, check out our cool science fair project section.
