As you can see in this science experiment video, the raw egg floats in salt water but sinks in regular tap water. So, why did a raw egg float in salt water but sink in water?

By adding salt to water, you are increasing the density of water. Salt water is more dense than water and also more dense then the content of the egg, so the raw egg floats in salt water. But, the egg is more dense than water or water is less dense than egg, so the raw egg sinks to the bottom of the cup in water.

A hydrometer is one of the simplest ways to compare the density of different liquids. A hydrometer measures the density of liquids. In This experiment a hydro meter was created. The hydro meter was created by using 3items a) Drinking straw b) Nails (2) c) gum. This hydrometer was used to determine the density and buoyancy and the weight of 3 liquids. A) Tap Water B) Salt water C) oil. The salt water had a positive buoyant force with less gravitational force. The tap water had neutral buoyant force with neutral gravitational force. The oil had negative buoyant force with a high gravitational force. The thickest liquid was oil and following that was tap water then salt water. Using this information obtained from this experiment it shows that liquids with a high density will make the hydro meter sink more and liquids with lower density will make the hydro meter float higher
