Question: Was I wrong to give my 9 yr old nephew my girlfriend’s used tampon for his chemistry set experiments?

My nephew loves science. He has this chemistry set and a microscope and things like that. Well I told him a good project would be to take samples of menstrual blood and put them under a microscope and find out what a uterus lining looks like or maybe an unfertilized egg then he could mix his chemicals in with it and all that good stuff. Well, when my girlfriend found out I did this she was very upset. The way I see it was that she threw it in the trash so it wasn’t her property anymore. I shouldn’t have to ask permission for that. Also my sister (nephews mom) is pissed at me now for it. I mean the kid has latex gloves and whatnot, i can’t help it if he didn’t use them and besides he wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. It was supposed to be our little secret. I mean, its not like he ate it. I try to help out and get screwed so much.

Answer: THAT IS SOOOO GROSSSSSSS!!!!

I would be be pissed too if my significant other did that. Number One it is so degrading. If you think that a used tampon is a good science experiment then let somebody use you body excrements as an experiment.
Number two. The boy is only nine. Do yo remember being nine. Did you ever think that it might have been embarrasing for him to have to handle a dirty tampon? He probably thought it was gross too.
Number three. Dont do stuff behind your girlfriends or sisters back. especially if it has to do with her child. if somebody gave my son a used tampon i would be absolutly livid. Do you even know what kinds of germs are on those things?!??!!?!?!
Next time you want to help with a science experiment try giving him different kinds of water to look at. Or dog saliva.
