Question: Science fair help please!!!!!?

My science fair question is: “What is the difference in buoyancy between quicksand and water?”. I need the control of the experiment. HELP!!!!!

Answer: The buoyancy of water is the control.

A control Isolates Variables in experiments. Since Water is the standard for buoyancy (1) it is always going to be the control when comparing to others.

Question: Can anyone recommend a good lab book for middle school science?

Something very hands on, but easy prep and chemicals (etc).
This would be for a7th grade life science class. Don’t mind spending a little money if it’s good with lot’s of experiments.

Answer: i know this is for 6th grade but it is advanced and it is really really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Science Experiment Music

Question: What is the control in my science experiment?

My science experiment was taking peoples blood Pressure. Then having them listen to music to see if their blood Pressure had changed.

Answer: Or you could use the same people on a different day, but have them not listen to music. If you’ve already done your experiment, you could say that the control is the people before they listened to music.

Try to keep everything the same except the music.

If the people sat still for 5 minutes while listening to the music, the control people should sit still 5 minutes while not listening to not music, then take their Pressure again.

What they were doing before they listened to music could also have an affect on their blood Pressure, for example, arguing with someone or watching TV or napping or eating, or even having their blood Pressure taken. That’s why the people before they listened to music is sort of a good control (but maybe not the best).

But really you’re trying to separate what affect music has from everything else that goes on.
