Question: I need to choose an experiment for year 12 chemistry.?

We have 3 months of research and experimenting and need to write a 2000 word report. It can be any experiment within reason. In the past people have made penicillin or aspirin etc… any ideas?

Answer: Wow, i never knew we had to do that for yr 12 chemistry! R u sure?? Im doing yr 12 chemistry but all ive done so far are titrations and galvimentric/volumetric analysis =S and other stuff like spectroscopy etc…

Maybe you can make… some kind of detergent.

Question: When making a sugar crystal does the sugar turn out to be the color of the candy or you need to food color it?

I am doing a science experiment with my sister about making a sugar crystal and need help.

Answer: It depends on what type of color you want it. When sugar is heated, it becomes transparent, sometimes with amber or brown undertones, depending on what type of sugar you use. Heating it more will result in a darker color.

To achieve other colors like blue, red, or green, you really would need food coloring.
