Question: ANY GiRLY CHEMiSTRY SCiENCE FAiR EXPERiMENT SUGGESTiONS?

HELLO^_^. Im in the 10th grade and looking for a science fair project to do. It has to be a chemistry experiment. It also has to be above my grade level, because I’m in the Science and Technology program at my school. But I really really really want it to be girly and fun.

i.e experiments about nail polish or coloring hair etc

Answer: Try giving a company called National Starch and Chemical a call. They supply raw materials for personal care products, largely hair spray. They may be able to give you some info. There was a move a few years ago to reduce the solvents used for environmental reasons. this could be a good basis for the project.

Look up Ciba specialty chemicals for hair dyes.

These are two examples but look in your phone directory and try and see if there is a manufacture of personal care products near you. You may be able to go and see them.
