Science Experiment For First Graders

Question: Looking for Science Experiment Ideas for a first grader?
I need some ideas for my son to pick from. It should be something rather easy that he can do right in front of his class. He is studying Liquids, Gases, and Solids so I would like it go along that theme. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
Thanks
We are actually doing a rocket I hope that’s okay for his class!
Answer: Do how temperature affects a balloon. He could easily blow up a balloon and tie it. Then he could show the class what happens when heat is applied and what happens when coldness is applied. To do this, you could use a hairdryer for the heat (or a microwave if you want to see it pop). You could submerge the balloon in ice water for the coldness. I recommend using three seperate balloons so the students can compare. This is a very affordable and creative suggestion and it would be feasible for the entire class to participate if you wanted.
