Science Experiment Ideas For Kids

Question: I need a good science experiment on the Milky Way. Any ideas?
It is about the HIstory of the Univese. My brother already did the written part of his project. He needs a model or experiment idea. We first thought of doing the sharpie on the uninflated balloon, but 5 kids have already done it. He needs an original idea that is not too hard, but really cool. He needs an A+ for the Honor Role
Answer: a balloon with galaxies drawn on to show to big bang and the expansion of the universe through redshift etc…
ohh… no balloon. uh…
how about explaioning red shift? like using color filters maybe. not the best of suggestions i know…
or maybe something on subatomic particles and how they get captured as they cool down?

Science Experiments Do Home

Question: Science Experiments??
What are some simple and easy Science Experiments i can do at home?
Answer: These sites have or point to lots of science fair project ideas. There are probably projects here you could do at home:

Science Experiment Demonstrations

Question: What radioisotopes that emit beta particles would be safe to use in a school science experiment/demonstration?
I know that Strontium-90 is most commonly used as a radioisotope, but I’m not sure how dangerous it is, or what quantity of it would be safe.
Or would a different radioisotope be more appropriate for this?
Answer: Strontium-90 is a good one, so is Cobalt-60. I did multiple experiments with little metal plates this past semester on proportional counters and other kinds of detectors. The level of radiation given off during these experiments is absolutely nothing.
