Science Experiments About Animals

science experiments about animals
Question: Other than animal experimentation, what other research and experiments are carried out within Medical Science?

I really do hope you can help me.
I’m not asking you to do my homework for me or anything like that, but i’ve been given this assignment in which i need to discuss the role of Medical Science in helping to control and prevent illness and disease in terms of research and experiments.
I’ve written comprehensively about animal research and experimentation, but i can’t think of any other research or experiments that are carried out within healthcare.

Do you know of any other types of research and experiments (apart from on animals) which are carried out?

Hope you can help xxxxxxxxxxx

Answer: There’s bench research. Picture a lab with a guy sitting at a bench. Lab animals may be involved, but there may also be cultures of exotic germs testing antibiotics, or tissue cultures looking for monoclonal antibodies, or simple test tube experiments.

Then there’s clinical research. Testing real people. Sometimes we do controlled tests of different treatments to help figure out what works better. Sometimes we may expose volunteers to different stimuli to see how they react.

Then there’s ecological epidemiology. Looking at a population in place, without doing an experiment. Take 100 people with cancer and a hundred without and see what is different about their histories to help determnie possible causes.

Research comes in many flavors in medicine, and many degrees of high and very low quality. But good research of any kind advances medical knowledge and human knowledge.

Science Experiment Human Body

science experiment human body
Question: What are some ideas for a relatively simple experiment related to the human body?

It’s for my Advanced Biomedical Science class. For example, my teacher mentioned previous students measuring freshman boys’ pulses when conservatively dressed girls were around and when they were not-so conservatively dressed. (obviously there was a distinct difference in pulse rates)
