Question: what’s a good chemistry site?

I am 14 years old and i love chemistry , math , computers etc etc. I’ve scoured most of the internet looking for a site with cool Chemistry Experiments . i want to do dangerous stuff not add baking soda and vinegar together to get a little weak fizz. I want explosions , distilling and other stuff like that. I do follow all the safety things and yes my dad , mom or other adult guardians are present at my experiments so are there any good sites for things like these

Answer: One of my classes in college had a section on ethics. And at the end of it we were all asked to take a pledge and sign an agreement. That pledge was based on this idea. We were being trained on and we would have access to information that could be used for potential unethical activities. We were asked to agree to use our knowledge and our connections in an ethical manner. I’ve stood by and abided by that pledge my entire career. And I’m not going to break it now.

That said, I refuse to help a 14 yr old kid, create homemade explosives. It’s dangerous. It could be illegal where you live (especially in this day and age of crazy extremists terrorists). And it’s certainly foolish for you and/or your parents to think you can handle explosive reactions safely at your age. Nor do I believe distillation is appropriate. Too many things can go wrong without proper training. A distillation apparatus can explode if it isn’t operated properly. And it’s usually full of flammable materials. Heat, flammable materials, explosions, etc without the background safety education, outside a controlled environment is ill advised.

Wait until you take a chemisty class. Maybe your local community college would have something that you could take at night or during the summer. They would teach you the basics of safety first. Then experiments. Until then.. good luck to you and stay interested

and by the way, what 14yr old kid has a job in an office using a computer as you state here.
